A Novella of decent size, and obvious in the clever ways of 19th Century Literature, which is a pat on the back for the Author. While graphic in the descriptions of it's violent moments, I still thought tame enough compared to todays standards and what is shoved at us every time we turn the telly on. I was still wondering what the punch line would be, right up to the last pages, and for this alone deserves the 4 star rating, I couldn't put it down until I knew. It leaves you to fill in a certain amount of the bits and purposefully doesn't answer others, I enjoyed it nonetheless.

Ok, first and foremost, this book is NOT SUITABLE for the faint of heart. There's graphic violence in vivid, stunning detail. That being said, the author is gifted where painting pictures with words is concerned, as well as world building. The story is gripping, suspenseful, and engaging; which is why I gave it three stars. That being said, however, I finished the story in it's entirety, and was left absolutely befuddled as to what I just read. I wondered if maybe I missed something? The plot is a bit convoluted and tangled, but I'm not upset that I downloaded it and ultimately don't regret reading it.
Not my cup of tea.
